On Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM there will be a legal picket line set up at the construction entrance to Durham Live on Church Street south of the 401 and railway line, west side.

 The people of Ajax and Pickering are fed up with municipal and provincial politicians and developers who believe that environmentally sensitive areas like the Duffins Creek wetlands are there to be exploited instead of protected. Citizens are striking to protest the actions of Durham Live in seeking to pave over the Duffins Creek wetlands for a warehouse. We have had enough! Greed, money, and power politics will no longer be allowed to trump protection of the natural environment for future generations without public protest. Those planning to picket should remember to wear a mask, socially distance, and park their cars on the side of the road on the east side of the street. Please lend your support to this peaceful strike, and let the municipal and provincial politicians and Durham Live know that the people of Ajax and Pickering do not support selling out wetlands for profit.
